Vera Mae Rowland

Vera Mae Rowland, a resident of Collinsville, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 76 years of age. Mrs. Rowland was born April 3, 1931 in Stigler to John C. and Eler (Honeycutt) Parker. At an early age her family moved to Sand Springs where she attended school. She worked for many years as a laundress and enjoyed dancing and music. She never met a stranger and will be remembered as "Mom Vera" by everyone she welcomed in her home. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Bill Rowland, a son, Tom Furr and two siblings, Wesley Parker and Betty Dodson. Survivors include her two daughters, Susan Cook and husband Terry of Skiatook and Laura Poteet and husband Ron of Tulsa, a sister, Mary Allen of Tulsa, ten grandchildren, James Wallen Furr, Shannon Marie West, Angela June Vega, Thomas Wayne Furr, Jr., Casey Furr, Jenny Furr, Joshua Jay Ross, Aaron Christopher McIntire, Curtis Lynn Cook and Sherry Renee Cook, and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 29, 2007 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.mcclendon-winters.com
