Florence Juanita Royse

Florence Juanita Royse, Morris resident, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Rebold Manor in Okmulgee. She was 89 years of age. She was born March 5, 1913 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Farris) Royse. She taught school at Eram for a few years prior to moving to Oklahoma City, and spent most of her life living in Oklahoma City and retired from Tinker Air Force Base. Mrs. Royse was a devoted caregiver, retiring early to care for her mother. In the early 1990ís, Mrs. Royse moved to Morris and resided there until she moved to Rebold Manor 2 years ago. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Morris. Preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters, Pauline Middleton, Francis Royse, Hazel Peters, Mary Woods, and Viola Royse, and a brother, Robert L. Royse. Survivors include a nephew, Lawrence Middleton of Morris and a niece Mary Hyde of Florida.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Trinity Baptist Church of Morris with Reverend Garnet M. Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Pete Belisle, Clyde Tucker, Max Shoemake, Dan Boydston, H.G. McChesney, and Cecil McKeen. Friends may visit the funeral home from 1-8 PM Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
