Mildred Aline (Wade) Russum, Okmulgee, passed away Sunday morning, August 31, 2003 at St. Francis hospital in Tulsa. She was 84 years of age. Mrs. Russum was born August 21, 1919 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Ivan Sylvester and Ruby Mae (Price) Wade. She graduated from Talihina High School in 1937, Southeastern State University, Durant, in 1941 and Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, in 1958. She married Issac Jackson Russum on June 27, 1958 in Okmulgee. Mrs.(Wade) Russum taught young people art at Okmulgee High School and Arlington Texas Schools for a total of 39 years. She enjoyed creative arts, flower gardening and teaching and helping young people. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Texas Retired Teachers Assn., Oklahoma Retired Teachers Assn., Beta Sigma Phi, Arlington (Texas) Art Association, Local Camp Co. Teachers Association in Pittsburgh, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Frank E. Wade.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Taylor of Okmulgee, a niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ron (Sharon) Allison of Okmulgee and a nephew, Mr. Frank F. Wade of Midwest City, Oklahoma.

A graveside service will be held at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6-7 P.M. Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contribution may be made to the Arthritis Foundation (Eastern Oklahoma Chapter) or the Goodland Home for Boys, P.O. Box 1056, Hugo, OK 74743. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
