McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Fred Everett Scott Fred Everett Scott, longtime Okmulgee area resident, died Tuesday morning, January 6, 2004 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Muskogee. He was 74 years of age. He was born March 15, 1929 in Morris, Oklahoma to Cleo and Hattie (Ussury) Scott. Fred had been employed at Ball Brothers and ASG prior to becoming a carpenter. He was an active ember of the DAV and the Trinity Lutheran Church. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cody (Henderson) Scott and two brothers Elmer and Paul Scott. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Johnson) Scott of the home, children, Robin Nimil and husband John of Owasso, Larry Scott of California, Debbie Scott of California, Robert Holeman of Keystone, Jody Jones of Keystone and Terry Nelson of Broken Arrow, a sister, Dorothy Williams of California, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, January 12, 2004 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Rufus Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1189 of Okmulgee and Post 539 of Henryetta will provide Military Honors Friends may visit the funeral home 1-8 PM Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
