Lydell Jack Seymore

Lydell Jack Seymore, longtime Beggs resident, passed away Sunday morning, March 23, 2003 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Seymore was born June 2, 1923 in Okmulgee to Marshall and Lula Mae Seymore. He was a retired construction laborer having been a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America for 50 years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he had served as an usher. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Bennie (Moore) Seymore, of the home, two sons, John Wayne Seymore of Beggs and Joseph Seymore of Tulsa, two daughters, Lou Ella Seymore of Tulsa and Sylvia Nash of Beggs, a step-son, James Moore of Tulsa, three step-daughters, Judy Darnell of Tulsa, Deronda Shine of Muskogee and Sarah Webster of Kansas City, Kansas, a sister, Lillie Seymore, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the First Baptist Church South in Beggs with Pastor Maurice Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with J.C. Williamson, James Thompson, Rosevelt Walker, Leroy Brown, Ed Shine, and Nathaniel Thompson serving as casketbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12-8 P.M. on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
