Clifford Leroy Shelton

Clifford Leroy Shelton was born January 29, 1927 in Edna, Oklahoma to John and Mamie (Pulliam) Shelton.  He passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the age of 80.  At the time of his death he was a resident of the Highland Park Nursing Home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  He was a lifetime resident of the Beggs and Okmulgee area.  He was a retired cement contractor.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J.R. Shelton and Johnny Dale Shelton and two sisters, Florene Fisher and Geneva Gilmore. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty (Davis) Shelton; and 3 children, Phillip Davis and wife Alvina of Kellyville, Ruth Vaden and husband, Don of Beggs, Karen Burgess and husband, Mike of Nuyaka, and 4 grandchildren, 3 Brothers, Wesley Shelton of Slick, Leanord Shelton of Prattville and Donald Shelton of Hectorville, 4 Sisters, Paulina Province of Bristow, Corene Campbell of Slick, Margaret Davis of Sapulpa, and Maxine Stice of Keiffer and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Oak Grove Church with Reverend L.O. Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Tuskegee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Bill Nation, Keven Tucker, Dan Vaden, Rodger Smith, Bob Martin, Earnie Ferreira and Ned Allen. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
