Barbara Simons

Barbara Jean Simons 82, died in Sugar Land, Texas on Saturday, April 5, 2008. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 4, 1925 to Howard and Juanita (Plumlee) Stover. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in education in 1947. While at OSU, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She moved to McAllen, Texas in 1960 and taught Kindergarten in Mission, Texas for over 20 years, and was a member of the Texas Teachers Association. Barbara retired in 1989 and moved to Sugar Land, Texas. Her parents and a brother, Joe Stover preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Charles Simons, one daughter; Sandy and husband Tom Little of Sugar Land, Texas, a son; Steve Simons of Sugar Land, Texas, one brother; Howard Stover and his wife Flo of Jackson, Mississippi, One grandson; Kevin and wife Amanda Little of Katy, Texas and one great granddaughter; Kamryn Little of Katy, Texas.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 am at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home with Father Gary Kastl of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tulsa officiating. Interment will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at mcclendon-winters.com.
