Steven Wayne Skaggs

Steven Wayne Skaggs 31, resident of Okmulgee, died in a Tulsa Hospital on Tuesday of a sudden illness. He was born in Okmulgee on September 28, 1976 to Clarence Wayne and Linda Sue (Noble) Skaggs. Steven attended and graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1995. He attended Carl Albert Jr. College and Northeastern State University. He played baseball from T-Ball to college, playing pitcher for the Okmulgee Bulldogs. He was an avid outdoorsman and member of the Okmulgee Bow Club. He enjoyed all seasons of hunting and fishing. Spending as much time as possible teaching his sons what he loved so much.

He leaves behind his parents; Wayne and Linda Skaggs, two beautiful children; Hunter Lynn Skaggs and Artcher Wayne Skaggs, grandmother; Imogene Matthews, grandparents; Fred and Wanda Adams, aunts and uncles; Marvena and Donald Belcher, Marilyn Greene, James Noble, Gelena Betts, Shirley and Bill Lawrence, Julian and Patsy Acevedo, Jim and Diana Lemaster, Les and Lisa Skaggs, Carol and Ron Cowan, Rita and Tony Benson, Billy Matthews, Charles and Diane Matthews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kelley, Mike LeGrand, Art Caldwell, Matt Mabrey, Brian Bridgeman, John Grubb, Honorary Pallbearers will be Bo Kelley, Pat Kelley, Ronnie Bean, Chris Lindley and David Dunlap.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 2 PM at the First Assembly of God Church with Revs. Raymond Doke and Keith Baldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Leana Cemetery in Leana, Oklahoma. Visitation will be on Thursday 1-8 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, give to the Linda Skaggs Memorial Fund for Steven Skaggs at the Citizens Security Bank in Okmulgee.
