Betty Louise Norton-Smith

Betty Louise Norton-Smith, resident of Beggs, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Tuesday morning, May 22, 2007 on her 77th birthday. She was born May 22, 1930 in Depew, Oklahoma to Harvey and Etta (Tyler) Boydston . Betty grew up in the Depew-Millfaye area and then moved with her family to Shamrock at an early age. She married her first husband, the late Lawrence Norton and they moved to California, where they resided for 39 years. In 1977 they moved to Missouri to retire. On January 1, 1995 Betty and Tim Smith were married in Simcoe, Missouri and she made her home Beggs, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two brothers, Carl and Donald Boydston and a sister, Elsie Neuharth.

Her husband, Tim Smith of the home

Two sons, Larry Norton of Fresno, California and Harold Norton and wife Beverly of Oklahoma City

Step daughters, Arlene Wilcher and husband Bill of Tuttle, Virginia Hubble and husband Phil of Okmulgee, and Valorie Bruner of Beggs,

Step son, Tim Smith and wife Cherrie of Natura

Two sisters, Dorothy Stewart and husband David of Richmond, Indiana and Irene Thompson of Sutherlin, Oregon

Grandchildren, Kimberly Baltier, Christine Davenport and Daniel Norton

Step grandchildren, Briana Davis, Billy Wilcher, John Day, Leslie Day, Jay Hubbell, Rachel Rouk, Lisa Lentz, Daniel Bruner, Chelsea Bruner, Stacie Kelley, Ryan Smith and Leah Brigance

A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. at the Union Cemetery near Stella, Missouri, with Reverend Billy Joe Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be sent at
