Jimmie Wayne Smith

Jimmie Wayne Smith 66, resident of Okmulgee died in Tulsa on Friday, June 30, 2006. He was born in Twin Hills, Oklahoma on October 27, 1939 to A .J. and Floy Marie (Farmer) Smith. Jimmie attended and graduated from Morris High School. He married Ann P. Johnson in Tulsa on June 17, 1961. He was employed by the Morris School District as a bus driver for 16 years. He was a member of the Victory Christian Center in Tulsa. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His parents and two brothers Billy Walter Smith and Paul Smith preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Ann of the home, two daughters Jennifer and husband David Cunningham of Tulsa, Becky Smith of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, granddaughter Becky Jo and husband David Weese of Morris, two sisters Marie McGinnis and Jo Ann Glenn both of Okmulgee, four brothers Clarence Smith, Ralph Smith, and Virgil Smith all of Okmulgee and Claud Smith of Henryetta, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Don Sellers, Ed Pryor, Sam Todd, Pat Pearce, Elden Jarvis and J.W. Fuller. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 12-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
