Robert Roy Smith

Robert Roy Smith, Tulsa resident, passed away Friday evening, August 15, 2003 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Tulsa. He was 57 years of age. Mr. Smith was born September 26, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma to the late Roy and Lucy (Chisholm) Smith. He graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1963. He received his Masterís Degree from the University of Oklahoma and was employed by the Social Security Administration as a supervisor. He joined the ROTC while in school, and later was in the U.S. Army, C.I.D., serving in Korea. He enjoyed motor cycling and hunting, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include, his wife, Yunghee Smith, of the home, three sisters, Darla Yocham of Okmulgee, Joyce Matheney and husband Tom of Tahlequah, and Virginia Foust and husband Bob of Okmulgee, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12-8 PM on Monday. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund in care of the funeral home.
