Silas Stacy

Silas Raymond Stacy, 81, died on November 20, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Silas was born on February 10, 1927 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Virgil Roy and Lillie Mac (Dearman) Stacy. He married Faye Lucille Rice on July 17, 1944. Silas worked as an auto mechanic and was known as a jovial, happy man who loved his work, his church and mostly his family. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Morris.

Silas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in August of 2006, an infant son, Gary Phillip Stacy, a sister, Juanita Henderson, and a brother, Elmer Stacy.

He is survived by two sons; Raymond Stacy and wife Treva of Springdale, Arkansas, Russell Stacy and wife Jennie of Bixby, two daughters; Sue Clark and husband Charles of Fischers, Indiana, Renee Raley and husband Eddie of Mounds, five brothers; G.C. "Short" Stacy of Okemah, Omar Stacy of Okemah, Gene Stacy of Okemah, Ray Stacy of Morris, Bill Stacy of Morris, two sisters; Wanda Wilburn of Okemah, Oma Edwards of Okemah, ten grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Pastor Elroy Martin’s church, the United Pentecostal Church of Morris. Reverend Charles Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Viewing will be on Sunday from 12 – 6 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
