Norma Ruth Ingle Streight 76, a longtime resident of Okmulgee died in Oklahoma City on Sunday, April 3, 2005. She was born on May 7, 1928 in Dewar, Oklahoma to Wilburn Roby and Celia Johanna (Shoun) Ingle. She was the youngest of six children. She spent her childhood in Dewar and Schulter and played basketball in her youth. In 1945, she married Jerry Svendgard. They had one daughter Carol. In 1951, she married A.E. Streight, Jr. They had 3 sons, Randall, Robert, and Ricky.

Norma worked for many years at Ball Brothers in Okmulgee retiring in 1987. She worked in other locations throughout the county making many friends over the years. Norma continued her education at OSU-Okmulgee graduating in 1973. With three sons active in sports, she also spent many evenings watching her sons play.

Throughout her life, her family was her most precious possession. Always devoted and never selfish, she was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Both her mother and father preceded her in death as did two brothers, Gilmer Ingle and Robert Ingle.

She is survived by her husband Asa E. Streight Jr. of the home, one daughter Carol Svendgard of Okmulgee and her son Michael Svendgard and his wife Kris of Fort Smith; son Randall Streight and his wife Cathy and their son William Streight of Tulsa; son Dr. Robert Streight of Edmond and his wife Debra and their children Ashley Streight of Orlando, Florida, Ryan Streight of Oklahoma City, and Katy Streight of Edmond; and son Dr. Ricky Streight of Terre Haute, Indiana and his wife Sherri and their children Ricky Streight Jr. and Rylee Streight of Terre Haute, Keelan Allen and Rantz Allen of Maud, and Brandy Ipock and her husband Jimmy of Shawnee.

She is also survived by sister Pauline Rogez of Henryetta, sister Margaret Fowler of Okmulgee, brother Leon Ingle of Houston, Texas, sister-in-law Mourene Jackson of Broken Bow, sister-in-law Nancy Miller of Roanoke, Virginia, sister-in-law Donna Farr of Okmulgee, and brother-in-law Kenneth Streight and his wife Doris of Florida and sister-in-law Jan Streight of San Antonio, Texas. She had five great-grandchildren Jarad Svendgard of Okmulgee, Jennifer Svendgard Colwill and her husband Ben of Okmulgee, Katy Svendgard, Jordan Svendgard, and Kristoffer Svendgard all of Fort Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Despite her own pain and sufferings, her biggest concerns, her deepest worries, her sincerest prayers were always for those that she loved. She always put others’ needs above her own, and her priorities were the three L’s: life, love, and loyalty to her family and countless number of friends. She will be deeply missed and thought of always.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home at 10 am. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Visitation will be at the funeral home , 12 until 8 pm on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
