Harvey Tate, Sr.

Harvey Tate, Sr., Beggs resident, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at St. John Medical Center in Sapulpa. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Tate was born September 25, 1919 in Jackson, Tennessee to Woodson and Estella Tate. He worked for many years in California before retiring and moving to Beggs in 1995. He was a Deacon at Tuskegee Baptist Church.

Preceding Mr. Tate in death were his parents and eighteen brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Wright) Tate of Beggs, a son and daughter-in-law, Harvey Tate, Jr. and Lola Tate of Beggs, five grandchildren, Rhonda Miller of Beggs, Pamela Cotton of Tulsa, Nicole Marshall of Porter, Malcolm Cotton of Tulsa and Adrian Friday of Tulsa and four great grandchildren, two brothers, George Jay Tate of Sacramento, California, and Woodson Tate, Jr. of Fresno, California, sister, Maybelle Brown of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Doyle Cemetery with Reverend Willie Antwine officiating. Interment will follow. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12-6 P.M. on Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. (205 W.
