James (Jim) M. Taylor


James Marvin Taylor 71, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Tulsa on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Jim was born in Okmulgee on February 24, 1936 to Emmett R. and Elsie May (Tracy) Taylor. He was well known for his brickwork in Okmulgee. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his grandchildren and other family. He was a kind, intelligent and witty man. Preceding him in death where his parents, four brothers; Velmer (Boomer) Taylor, Ernest (Bud) Taylor, Delford (Soak) Taylor, Emmet Orlando (Pete) Taylor, and a sister; Tessie Doreen (Mutt) Perry and a granddaughter; Danaka Joyce Taylor.

Survivors include three daughters; Danielle Taylor of Oklahoma City, Deborah and husband Rick Bentjen of Okmulgee, Denise Groff of Texas, two sons; Daniel Taylor of Okmulgee, Joey Taylor of Coweta, two brothers Tex Taylor and Seth Taylor both of Okmulgee a sister; Dixie McPherson of Pleasant Valley, CA, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday 9-12 p.m. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
