Jessie Lee Taylor, longtime Beggs area resident, passed away Monday evening, December 15, 2003 at his home near Beggs. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Taylor was born March 8, 1926 in Kellyville, Oklahoma to Frank and Elizabeth (Hunt) Taylor. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired welder. He married Dora Mae Bruton on March 28, 1949 in Bristow, Oklahoma. They purchase the farm west of Beggs where they have since resided in 1957, and moved there in 1958. He raised cattle and enjoyed coon hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Taylor, his mother, Elizabeth (Hunt) potter, a brother, Henry Taylor, and a sister, Eva Lollis. Survivors include his wife, Dora Mae Taylor of the home, three children, Frank Houston Taylor, Susan Lynn Taylor Weaver, and Sandra Lea Taylor Pierce, all of Beggs, a brother, Ernest Roy Taylor of Mounds, a sister, Gladys Arrowwood of Glenpool, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Beggs Cemetery with Pastor R.C. Daniels officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
