Willie Monroe Terry

Willie Monroe Terry, resident of Okmulgee, died Friday evening, September 22, 2006 at his home. He was 77 years of age. Willie was born May 7, 1929 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to John Campbell Terry, Sr. and Mamie A. (Hill) Terry. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after 39 years of service from Champlin Refining. He was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, son-in-law, Randy Pierce, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia (Brewer) Terry of the home, two daughters, Janice Pierce of Okmulgee and Julie Gilliam of Enid, a son, Steven Terry of Austin, Texas, two sisters, Jeri Downes of Tyler, Texas and Addline Cheek of Lamesa, Texas and seven grandchildren, Brandon, Erik and Layne Pierce of Okmulgee, Jason, Sarah and Nathan Gilliam of Edmond and Anna Terry of Austin, Texas.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Taylor and Dr. Jerry Fielder officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Million Dollar Miracle" in care of the First Baptist Church.
