"Dignity without compromise"


Haskell Ike Terry, longtime Mounds area resident, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2002 at the Continuous Care Center in Sapulpa. He was 80 years old. Mr. Terry was born February 18, 1922 in Benlowman, Arkansas to Ike and Ollie (Gold) Terry. He married Cordell Viola Clements on August 9, 1947. She preceded him in death on February 5, 1999. Mr. Terry was a Veteran of the United States Navy and had worked for American Airlines as a mechanic for 25 years before retiring in 1984. After retirement he enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of the Masonic Temple. In addition to his wife, Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Blanche Previtt.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Terry of Mounds and Wesley Terry of Pretty Water, Oklahoma, a daughter, Cheryl Lloyd of Tulsa, a sister, Ikey Walker of Ashdown, Arkansas, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Mounds Cemetery with Minister L.O. McNabb officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 9-1 on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
