Billy Joe Treat 70, of Okmulgee died October 18, 2002 in Okmulgee. He was born August 24, 1932 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Homer and Ellen (Howell) Treat. Mr. Treat was a veteran of the United States Navy in the Korean War serving on the U.S. Valley Forge CV 45. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoffman, Oklahoma. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers Eugene and David Treat and one sister Mildred Viola Treat.
He is survived by one brother Jimmy Ray Treat of Beggs, Oklahoma, five sisters Linda Holden and Barbara Loague of Henryetta, Patsy Smith, Elsie Mann and Lucille Edmonds all of Morris. A host of nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be on Monday, October 21, 2002 at 10 am at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Rev. Jack Vance will officiate. Okmulgee VFW Post 1189 and Henryetta VFW Post 539 at the Morris Cemetery will give military grave rites.
