Sylvia LaRhea Weatherford

Sylvia LaRhea Weatherford 89, a lifelong resident of Morris, died in Muskogee, OK on Tuesday, January 15, 2007. She was born in Morris on December 27, 1918 to Y.Z. and Viola L. (Bates) Vaughan. Sylvia was very active in the United Pentecostal Church most of her life. Her husband, Earnest P. Weatherford preceded her in death on October 15, 1974. Her parents, three sisters; Ila Ashcraft, Zola Ledbetter, Inez Wasson, four brothers; Loral Vaughan, Cecil Vaughan, Zelan Vaughan, and Albon Vaughan, and one great grandchild Dylan Jack Alvarez also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter Eileen and husband Jack Lawson of Morris, two granddaughters; Tami and husband Benjamin Alvarez of Morris, Lisa Garrison of Morris, a great granddaughter Natalie Alvarez of Tulsa and other great grandchildren; Alicia Alvarez, Amye Alvarez, Angela Alvarez, Felipe Alvarez, and Kristin Garrison and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the United Pentecostal Church in Morris with Rev. Larry Grissom and Rev. Elroy Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 10-8 pm. The family will be at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Friday 4-8 pm.
