Willard "Will" D. Webb

Willard "Will" D. Webb, age 65, of Mounds passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at home. He was born February 23, 1941 in Okmulgee, Ok, the son of the late Lester and Opal Webb. He grew up North of Okmulgee and attended Preston School, where he played basketball. Will served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam and Cold War era. Following military service he was employed with Unit Rig and Equipment Company for15 years as a production supervisor in the Tulsa and Mexia TX plants. He also spent overseas duty with Unit Rig in Australia, Canada, Russia and South Africa supervising the assembly of large earth moving equipment. He retired from the Defense Contract Management Agency formerly Defense Logistics Agency in January 2005 with over 20 years of federal service as an Industrial Specialist / Operations Analyst. Will was recognized for exemplary service while deployed to Kosovo and Macedonia with DCMA in support of Operations Joint Guardian in 2000. His memberships include The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Jeanette and brother Jimmy. Survivors include his daughter Tammy Bassler of Tulsa and brother Tommy of Beavercreek OH. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 7, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery Chapel, Fort Gibson, OK. Reverend (Dr) Bill Wheeler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. www.mcclendon-winters.com
