Mary Jane Wesley
Mary Jane Wesley, lifelong Okmulgee
County resident, died Tuesday evening, October 9, 2007 at
St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 78 years of age.
She was born August 31, 1929 in Morris to Jessie James and
Bertha Mae (Baker) Owen. Mary Jane married Mitchel Wesley,
Jr. on August 31, 1946 in Beggs. She worked for many years
for the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a faithful member of the
First Baptist Church of Beggs, Order of the Eastern Star,
Red Hatters and spent many hours at the Senior Citizens
Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
brother, Jack Owen and her daughter, Janie Sue Chambers.
Survivors include her son, Jim Wesley and wife Ellen Kay of
Beggs, son-in-law, Max Chambers of Mounds, three
granddaughters, Angela Wesley Kouplen and husband Buster and
children Bailee, Devyon, Trenton and Macenzie, Michelle
Wesley Hinkley and husband Pete and children Coleton and
Abigail and Jenny Chambers and son Boston, a sister-in-law,
Wanda Owen of Webbers Falls and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13,
2007 at the First Baptist Church in Beggs with Reverend Jack
Carner officiating, assisted by Reverend Thom Chappelle.
Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Honorary
Casketbearers will be Gordon Anderson, Billy Paul Anderson,
Richard Roach and Richard Titsworth. Friends may visit the
funeral home from 9-8 P.M. on Friday and the family will
receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
