Ophelia Williams

Ophelia Mary Williams, 99, longtime resident of Afton, died Wednesday evening, December 17, 2008 at Miami Nursing Center.  She was born October 20, 1909 in Hall County, Georgia to Charles Samuel and Judith (Miller) Woody.  She married Waldo Herman Williams on January 14, 1931.  Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church of Afton.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Virgil Williams.  Survivors include three sons, James Williams and wife Sharon, Paul Williams and wife Rosalee and Anthony Williams and wife Loretta, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren..  Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Afton with Reverend Ted Wynn officiating, assisted by Reverend Chuck Price.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton. Casketbearers will be Terry Williams, Jebb Williams, Tracey Williams, Steven Williams, Darin Montgomery, James Doughitt, Gary Culver and David Speer.  Honorary Casketbearers will be Billy Harrison and Kenny Bohannan.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M.
