Cinda Wind

Cinda Wind, Okmulgee resident, died Friday afternoon, March 11, 2005 at Highland Park Manor in Okmulgee. She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Wind was born November 28, 1919 in Mason, Oklahoma to Stephen and Anna (Harjo) Cloud. She worked as a riveter during World War II and later was a homemaker. She lived in Tulsa for many years until moving to Okmulgee in the 1980ís. She had been a member of High Springs Indian Baptist Church and later the Fundamental Indian Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, William Wind, a son, Billy Heitt, a sister, Elsie Smith, and a brother, Daniel Cloud. Survivors include her son, Stephen Wind of Okmulgee, a step-son, Thomas Wind of Glenpool, a sister, Ann Cummins of Okmulgee, two grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A wake will begin at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church in Castle. A funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Prairie Springs Indian Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chester Bear, Steven Bear, Shaunday Wind, Lee Lowery, Johnny Bear, Chris Yahola, and Craig Bear. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
