Sherry Gayle Wise, 43, passed
away October 6, 2007 at her home after a battle with breast
cancer. Sherry was born March 20, 1964 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She earned a BS and MS degrees in education and early
childhood education from Central State University in 1986
and 1992. She proudly taught Kindergarten and 2nd
graders for the past 9 years at Beggs Elementary School.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Jim, children Brayden,
Maddy, Will and Grant of her home in Okmulgee, her parents
Jerry and Myrna Fielder, brother and wife, Steve and Kirsten
Fielder, brother Greg, mother-in-law Ann Eldridge and
sister-in-law and husband, Melanie and Bane Bigbie. Breast
cancer took her earthly life but not her strength, courage
and belief in God. She fought this battle with style, class
and dignity and showed a kind of inner strength to which we
can only aspire. Sherry was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Okmulgee and helped lead worship as a member of
the church’s praise team. With this illness, she continued
to touch the lives of many people with her special testimony
and song. Her singing and the way she lived her life were a
testimony to her belief in God and desire to lead others to
Christ. Sherry loved her many friends, family and especially
her children. Visitation will be Sunday from 12pm to 8 pm
and Monday from 12pm to 8pm, with family visitation from 6pm
to 8pm. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 9th
at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. The
family is requesting that donations be made to Susan G.
Komen for the Cure: 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste 250, Dallas TX 75244
and/or the Beggs Elementary School Library Fund 1201 West 9th
Street, Beggs OK 74421, in memory of Sherry. Condolences can
be made at mcclendon-winters.com. Arrangements are under the
direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
