Billy Joe Woody

Billy Joe Woody, 74, of rural Beggs area died at this home on Tuesday, January 3, 2006. He was born on May 30, 1931 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Jesse Daniel and Ruby Canas (O’Hagan) Woody. Mr. Woody was a veteran of the United States Army and then worked until his retirement from the Tulsa Fire Department. After his retirement he worked as a cattle and horse rancher. He and his wife are members of the Victory Christian Center in Tulsa. Mr. Woody was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Daniel and Ruby Canas Woody, his first wife Shirley Lee Hayes, who passed away in 1965 also his sister Lou Nell Woody Kilroy and two brothers Kenneth Woody and Jackie Gale Woody.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Charlene (Wills) Woody of the home, his sons Ronnie Lee and wife Lynda Woody of Jones, Oklahoma, Billy Don and his wife Susan Wood of Edmond, Oklahoma, Steven Dewayne and his wife JoAnn Woody of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Silver and Justin Woody of Oklahoma City, Barry and Bradley Woody of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jason and Lisa Woody of Kansas City, Missouri, a sister Patty Sue Woody Hall and her husband Ray of Prague and a brother Danny Lee and his wife Mary Woody also of Prague, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be on Friday, January 6, 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma. Pastor Jon Robertson will officiate.
