Pearl Lorene Workman

Pearl Lorene Workman, longtime Okmulgee resident, died Sunday morning, February 15, 2004 at Rebold Manor. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Workman was born May 1, 1917 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to the late John Bedford and Lena Belle McCoin. She married Henry Bernie Workman in 1940 in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1961. She had worked at the Okmulgee Bus Station for 15 years, had been a Pony Girl and enjoyed reading the Bible. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Workman was preceded in death by two sons, Edward James and Bernie Larry, six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Shackelton, of Okmulgee, two granddaughters, Jennifer Atkinson and husband Bennett of Tulsa and Blair Shackelton of Okmulgee, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend C.R. Franklin officiating. A private family interment will be held. Friends may visit the funeral home from 9-8 P.M. Tuesday and 9 until the funeral hour Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
