Leonard Alvin Young Jr.

Leonard Alvin Young Jr. 47, resident of rural Okmulgee went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2005. He was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on September 27, 1958 to Leonard Alvin and Mary Jane (Meedham) Young Sr. Leonard married Rita sue Guinn on January 18, 1994 in Ft. Smith Arkansas. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Leonard was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church in Okmulgee and worked in the oil fields and for Maxwell Lawn Service for many years. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife Sue of the home, three daughters; Stephanie Devlin and husband Tom of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Crystal Mitchell and Prestene Young of El Dorado, Kansas, two sisters; Patricia Hayden and husband Leon of Tulsa and Mary Ann Miller and husband Gary of Schulter, Oklahoma, three brothers; Johnny Young and wife Donna of Missoula, Montana, Bobby Joe Young and wife Norma of Wichita, Kansas and Noel Hogue and wife Patti of Stockton, California, his mother In Law; Jessie Guinn of Keys, Oklahoma, four grandchildren; A.J. (Copenhaver) Ash, Dylan Diver, Noah Diver and Grace Diver, three special friends; Matt Maxwell, Danny Gordon, Cheryl Lay and families and a host of other relatives and friends.

A going home celebration will be on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 10 am at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tristan Demmitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Salt Creek/Wilson Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matt Maxwell, Danny Gordon, Tim Wilson, Ronnie Lowe, Eddie Lowe, Dave Griffin, Tom Lay and Derek Lay.
