Frank Eugene "Ski" Zabienski


Frank passed away at home in Tulsa, Tuesday August 1, 2006. He was born on December 23, 1929 in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Edie Zabienski and grandson Ty Harris. He is survived by his wife Barbara Morton Zabienski, 7 children—Mike (Linda) Zabienski, Jacci (Joe) Harris, Mark Zabienski, Noah Zabienski, Doug Morton, Kim (Bob) Jandebeur and Brent Johnson; 6 grandchildren— Austin, Addison, Kaylan, Ryan, Daniel, and Noah; and 1 great-grandchild—Zarek.

Frank attended Marquette and St. Gregory High Schools. He married Billie McGovern immediately after school and entered the Marines soon thereafter. Frank led a colorful and exciting personal and professional life—after the Marines he became a roughneck in the oil fields of Texas, an ambulance driver, and then followed his father’s footsteps into the car business. But he was most successful and will be remembered mainly for his contribution to the building industry and the real estate profession. He continued to work on a daily basis at Coldwell Banker Radar group until recently.

Besides his love for his family and friends, his three greatest loves were his wife Barbara, his dachshund Diego and sprint car races. Frank’s most famous legacy will be being known as "The Bubble Gum Man".

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the GTAR Foundation which provides school clothing through their Backpack for Kids program, P.O. Box 470603, Tulsa, Ok. 74147.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Harvard Avenue Christian Church, 5502 South Harvard, Tulsa.
